About the project
The Story Behind the Name and the Concept
Project: Cardiff International Kindergarten (Cardiff KG) - Doha, Qatar.
The concept of Cardiff International Kindergarten is inspired by the long-established British education system associated with the city of "Cardiff" (the capital of Wales in the United Kingdom), which is renowned for educational institutions that focus on combining a child's personal development with modern academics.
In the State of Qatar, RASSEDCO took on the task of embodying this British educational vision and turning it into a tangible reality, by fully establishing and equipping the kindergarten so that it suits the local environment while upholding international standards.
Surveyed and assessed the proposed villa against Ministry requirements before conversion.
Carried out structural modifications — backyard fit-out, external emergency stairs, secured pool and activity areas, and full safety compliance to Civil Defence standards.
Transformed interiors with bright, child-friendly finishes and educational wall graphics — including school-bus themed murals — across stairwells and corridors.
Furnished classrooms with child-sized furniture, book and story shelving, and interactive teaching tools.
Recruited qualified academic and administrative staff — local and international teachers experienced in the British curriculum — and managed the full operational launch.
Site Inspection and Preliminary Study
The project began with precise, practical fieldwork: RASSEDCO inspected the proposed residential villa and assessed its technical and logistical suitability for conversion into an educational facility, while studying its compliance with the requirements of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
Engineering and Structural Works, Security and Safety
The company supervised substantial structural modifications to transform the conventional residential building into a safe school environment.
Fitting out the rear courtyard.
Building the dedicated external emergency staircase (fire exits).
Fully securing the swimming and activity perimeter in accordance with Qatar's strict Civil Defence requirements.
Interior Design and Educational Visual Identity
The building's internal halls were transformed into spaces that attract and stimulate children: the walls were painted in vivid colours, and the stairway and corridor walls were decorated with cheerful educational artwork dedicated to school buses, to ease pupils' movement and instil a sense of reassurance in them.
Academic Equipping and Specialist Furnishing
RASSEDCO furnished the classrooms and supplied them with specialist school furniture for children (round tables and matching colourful chairs), together with purpose-designed shelving to organise books and international storybooks, art activity materials and interactive teaching aids.
Academic Recruitment and Direct Operational Supervision
Our role extended to sourcing and appointing qualified teaching and administrative personnel, including international and local female teachers and supervisors experienced in the British curriculum.
All stages of operation and opening were carried out under the direct on-site supervision of our General Manager, Mr. Abed Saeed Baghazal, to ensure that the work proceeded to the highest standards of quality.
Outcome and Operational Impact of the Project
Thanks to this fully integrated establishment, Cardiff Kindergarten has become a vibrant international educational environment that today brings together children of different nationalities and cultures in Doha, where they take part in interactive activities and simplified scientific and agricultural experiments that develop a child's intelligence, in addition to recreational and community activities organised in the nursery's outdoor courtyard.
